TONIGHT is 2nd grade night at the GHMS girls basketball game! All 2nd graders who come make sure to wear RED (house color) so you can get FREE ADMISSION 🖍️❤️🔴 (parents MUST attend with their child) Let's help cheer on our Lady Warriors as they play Dunlap! First game starts at 5pm! *please note that elementary grade-level teachers will plan and host their own additional evening at a ball game for their particular grade! Information will be shared at a later date!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered for and attended our Fall Book Fair! We sold $13,500, which allowed us to redeem almost $4000 in books for the library, our classrooms, and our students. A special shout out to Crystal Rajtora, who did a great job running the Book Fair!

6th grade explored the phases of the moon today with station activities!

Here is what another student said about Kirby: "Kirby includes everyone and when we have to separate into groups, he never excludes anyone. A special thanks to our Kindergarten staff for introducing our Purposefull People word of the month, Responsibility. We also celebrated our students who exemplified Respect from last month!

Congratulations to the 7th grade girls basketball team on their tough win against Canton last night. The game started off slow but the girls turned it on in the second half outscoring the Little Giants 19-7 and winning with a final score of 27-17! The Warriors were led by Brinley Nena with 10 points and Brooklyn Sauder with 6 points. 7th grade is now 3-2 on the season! The 8th grade girls basketball team came back and won last night against Canton 26-25! The Warriors closed out the game hitting crucial free throws with only seconds on the clock to pull away for the victory. 8th grade was led by Addison Points’s 11 points and Kaedence Beck’s 6. 8th grade is now 4-1 on the season. Thank you to the cross country team for coming to cheer on our Lady Warriors!

We are celebrating World Day of Bullying Prevention on Monday, October 7th. Please encourage kids to wear blue and be kind!

Ms. Ingold's 6th grade Science class is learning about rotation and revolution of the moon and sun today!

October 1st was the start of Inktober. The point of Inktober is to improve drawing skills, develop good habits, and push creative limits: Develop a daily drawing habit Inktober is a month-long challenge where participants create an ink drawing every day in October. It can take about a month to make a habit automatic. Push creative limits Inktober gives participants the opportunity to use their imagination and find creative solutions. 8th graders attended the CareerSpark field trip at the Civic Center today. CareerSpark is an interactive, multi-industry career expo.

Some of the staff members came out to run (and walk) with the cross country team yesterday afternoon. They had a great workout and earned points for their Houses!

Students in Dr. Greer's 8th grade Science class are learning about wavelengths today!

It's a slower week at GHMS this week! Thursday evening's theme for the girls basketball game is neon! Students who wear neon get in for free! See you there!

Today is Custodian Appreciation Day! The Student Council treated our custodians to thank you signs and cookies today. We would be a mess without them!

Congratulations to Zane Kingham, who finished 5th in the boys varsity race at the Dunlap Middle Invite. There were 52 teams in attendance at this meet. Great job, Zane!

The middle and elementary schools celebrated Buddy Day today! Here are some adorable pictures!

The Cross Country team had another impressive showing at the Tazwood Conference last night. Leah Hohulin and Keegan Waggoner both medaled in their races with Leah coming in 13th and Keegan 15th. The Boys Varsity earned five medals last night with Mitch Hohulin taking 18th, Mason Godinez taking 16th, Karter Brown taking 11th, Mason Shoff taking 10th, and Zane Kingham won the entire race with a new PR of 11:15! The boys narrowly missed taking the 1st place trophy by 2 points! We are so proud of our runners! The team has their final whole-team meet at Detweiller tomorrow night and then we’re off to Sectionals in a couple of weeks. Go Warriors!
